Mind-Reading AI: Reconstructing Images from Our Brains

Plus: LinkedIn Creator and DeepMind Co-Founder's New AI Venture Aims to Raise $675 Million

Good Morning AI Runners đŸƒâ€â™‚️

Here's what we've got for you today:

  • Mind-Reading AI: Reconstructing Images from Our Brains

  • LinkedIn Creator and DeepMind Co-Founder's New AI Venture Aims to Raise $675 Million

  • Service Weaver: A new open source framework for writing backend applications.

AI can read our minds now? This team from Osaka figured out how to reconstruct images from MRI scans using stable diffusion. So, they showed some images to test subjects, and then BAM! The AI was able to recreate those same images from the MRI data.

Check out these pics - the top row is the original image, and the bottom row is the reconstructed one. Insane.

Inflection is an AI start-up founded by Mustafa Suleyman and Reid Hoffman, the creator of LinkedIn. They are currently working on developing an AI personal assistant for the web. Despite not having released a product yet, Inflection is in talks to raise up to $675 million in funding. Its first funding round last year was valued at $225 million.

Google just announced Service Weaver which is an open source framework that simplifies the process of writing and deploying complex distributed systems. It gives a way for developers to write backend applications as modular monoliths, which basically means that the code is organized into smaller, independent components that can be developed, tested, and deployed separately.
