Good Morning AI Runners 🏃‍♂️

Here's what we've got for you today:

  • Leaked Microsoft Video: AI Automatically Creating A PowerPoint Presentation

  • Duolingo's GPT-4-powered "Roleplay" chatbot: the new way to practice speaking a foreign language

  • OpenAI Breaks with Tradition and Withholds Technical Details of GPT-4

Microsoft had an AI event a few hours ago where they officially announced Microsoft 365 CoPilot, Basically ChatGPT for Word, Powerpoint, Excel, etc.

A leaked video revealed a new feature using PowerPoint Copilot, which will utilize AI to automatically create slide decks for users. The AI assistant will be accessible via a sidebar in PowerPoint and can quickly generate a presentation based on a Word document.

Duolingo is stepping up its game with a new subscription tier called "Max." For $29.99 a month or $167.99 a year, users get access to some AI-powered features called "Roleplay" and "Explain My Answer." "Roleplay" lets you practice having real-life conversations with chatbot characters while "Explain My Answer" helps you understand why you got a question right or wrong.

OpenAI is being all hush-hush about GPT-4. Normally, they give out technical details about their programs and models so that other researchers can learn from them. But this time, they're not sharing any details. In the technical report, "Given both the competitive landscape and the safety implications of large-scale models like GPT-4," it writes, "This report contains no further details about the architecture (including model size), hardware, training compute, dataset construction, training method, or similar."
