Google Invests $300M In Ex-OpenAI Researcher
Remember when covered Claude (AI Chatbot) a few posts ago? Well, it turns out, Google has been secretly investing in Anthropic, the startup behind Claude, founded by former OpenAI researchers.
According to the Financial Times, Google snagged a 10% stake in the company for a cool $300 million. But will Google integrate Claude into their services like Microsoft has with ChatGPT? Only time will tell.
On the other hand, there's a bit of drama behind Anthropic's creation. Anthropic was founded by Dario Amodei (ex-VP of Research at OpenAI) after he left the company due to a disagreement over its direction. Anthropic aims to build "reliable and interpretable AI systems," while OpenAI has faced criticism for releasing ChatGPT without sufficient safeguards.
