  • Worldcoin: Humanness in The Age of AI ๐Ÿ›‚

It seems like we can't escape ads even in our chat conversations! Microsoft has confirmed that they will be adding more ads to Bing's chatbot, which means we'll be seeing sponsored content popping up in our messages. While it's not surprising that Microsoft is exploring this avenue to monetize their chatbot, the real question is how many ads will we see and will they be intrusive or not?

The Italian government's Data Protection Authority stated that there was no legal basis that justifies the massive collection and storage of personal data to train the chatbot. OpenAI has disabled ChatGPT for Italian users and has 20 days to respond to the accusations or "risk facing a fine of up to โ‚ฌ20 million".

Worldcoin, a project co-founded by Sam Altman who is also the co-founder of OpenAI, announced World ID, an open and permission-less identity protocol that enables users to verify their "humanness" online while maintaining their anonymity through zero-knowledge proofs. The project recently launched Proof of Personhood SDK, which helps developers integrate with the World ID system and use it to verify that their users are real humans and not bots.
